This interview for GovExec & Nextgov/FCW with Rachel Vincent Schwind, PMP, ACP, MBTI and Niki French on Transportation Security Administration (TSA)'s expansive efforts to both measure and improve #customerexperience is one of my all-time favorites. Not only was it fun because Rachel and Niki are just good people (duh), but we got into the weeds on the whole process, from setting up a shrewd government contract to blending the talents of that contracting team with adept federal employees and the nuances of drafting survey questions and ultimately surveying 13,000 (!) air travelers across 16 U.S. airports. The most comprehensive TSA survey has ever undertaken will ultimately help an agency that secures millions of Americans each day improve operations -- and its finding that 93% of travelers are already satisfied with their passenger experience sets a pretty high bar. In December, Niki French and I had the immense pleasure of recording an interview with Frank Konkel from GovExec about some of the project management sides of the survey as well as how Ben Terrell and Niki shrewdly set up their contract with ASI Government to enable us to be successful.
